'I am my sister's keeper'
Connection • Cultivation • Community

ABOUT SISTAR SYNDICATE
Sistar Syndicate was born from a simple but powerful belief: no woman should have to navigate life’s challenges, successes, and transitions without a supportive community around her.Years ago, while visiting a bookshop in East London, our founder Bianca James met a young Black mother who openly shared her experience of raising her child alone while balancing work, responsibility, and emotional recovery. Although their conversation was brief, it left a lasting impression.Bianca recognised parts of her own journey in this woman’s story - but she also recognised the difference that a strong support network can make. She had experienced the encouragement, care, and wisdom of women who had supported her through life’s challenges, reminding her of the powerful role community plays in helping women navigate life’s many seasons. That moment became a powerful reminder that while many Black women demonstrate extraordinary resilience, too many are navigating life’s joys and struggles without the connection, support, and community they deserve.Building on earlier community work, including the Sister Circle with friends in Hackney, Bianca created Sistar Syndicate as a space where women of African, Caribbean, and broader Black heritage can connect authentically, cultivate their well-being, celebrate their achievements, and flourish together.Inspired by lived experience and years of working alongside children, families, and communities, Sistar Syndicate was established to create intentional spaces that recognise the brilliance, resilience, and collective strength already present within our communities.Today, Sistar Syndicate brings women together through curated gatherings, well-being initiatives, and collaborative experiences that foster meaningful relationships, personal growth, creativity, and a genuine sense of belonging. As the organisation grows, we aim to expand our programmes, partnerships, and opportunities that build connection, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact across the UK.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Bianca James is an educator, community curator, and founder of Sistar Syndicate CIC.With over 14 years’ experience working across education, local authorities, and services supporting children and families, Bianca has dedicated her career to improving outcomes through connection, inclusion, and compassionate leadership.Growing up in Nottingham before moving to London as a teenager, Bianca’s passion for creating community has been shaped by both her personal journey and professional experiences. As a wife and mother to one adult son and two teenage sons, she understands the importance of strong support networks and the power of community throughout life’s many seasons.Throughout her life, Bianca has witnessed the transformative impact of women coming together - offering encouragement, wisdom, care, and support to one another. These experiences have shaped her belief that meaningful connection can create spaces where women feel valued, recognised, and able to flourish.Bianca believes that the true strength of Sistar Syndicate lies not in one individual, but in the collective wisdom, creativity, generosity, and brilliance of the women who make up the community.Today, Sistar Syndicate continues to grow as a community rooted in connection, cultivation, and belonging - creating spaces where women feel seen, supported, celebrated, and inspired by one another.
