SISTAR SYNDICATE CIC

Community. Connection. Cultivation.Through community, personal development and shared experiences, we create intentional opportunities where women of African, Caribbean, and broader Black heritage, can connect, grow, and thrive.

ABOUT SISTAR SYNDICATE

Sistar Syndicate was born from a simple but powerful belief: that women thrive when they are surrounded by connection, encouragement, and community.Years ago, while visiting a bookshop in East London, our founder, Bianca James, struck up a conversation with a young mother who shared her experience of raising her child alone while balancing work, responsibility, and personal healing. Although their conversation was brief, it left a lasting impression.Bianca recognised parts of her own journey in this woman’s story, but she also recognised something equally powerful: the difference that a strong support network can make. Throughout her own life, she had experienced the encouragement, care, and wisdom of women who supported her through different seasons, reminding her of the strength, belonging, and hope that can come from collective support. That moment became a powerful reminder that while many women of Black heritage demonstrate extraordinary resilience, too many are navigating life’s joys, challenges, and transitions without the support and sense of belonging they deserve.Building on earlier community work, including the Sister Circle she established with friends in Hackney, Bianca saw first-hand the impact of women coming together to share experiences, offer encouragement, and create spaces of belonging. These experiences shaped the vision for Sistar Syndicate - a Community Interest Company creating intentional spaces where women of African, Caribbean, and broader Black heritage can connect authentically, cultivate their wellbeing, celebrate their experiences, and grow together.Today, Sistar Syndicate brings women together through curated gatherings, wellbeing initiatives, and collaborative experiences that foster meaningful relationships, personal growth, and a genuine sense of belonging.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Bianca James is an educator, community curator, and founder of Sistar Syndicate CIC.With over 14 years’ experience working across education, local authorities, and services supporting children and families, Bianca has dedicated her career to improving outcomes through inclusion, compassion, and strong relationships.Growing up in Nottingham before moving to London alone as a teenager, her own experiences of navigating change, transition, and building a sense of belonging have shaped her passion for building community. As a wife and mother of three sons, she understands the value of having spaces where people feel supported, encouraged, and able to be themselves.Throughout her life, Bianca has witnessed the transformative impact of women coming together - offering encouragement, wisdom, care, and support to one another.
